As custom CBT/Multimedia developers since our founding in 1983, the staff at Creative Approaches has worked with and developed a wide variety of tools for use in developing and creating multimedia.

For one multimedia translation project, the original English version of the multimedia program had been created for our client by another vendor. When our client needed the program translated into Spanish, they could not reach an agreement with that vendor, so they contacted us. We translated the entire program, including on-screen text, navigation buttons, graphics, audio, and video files and provided our client with a tested, reviewed CD suitable for mastering and reproduction.

The process for this particular project was as follows:

1. Extract the textual content from all Authorware source files (lessons, glossary, examination) and from all graphics and video files.
2. Verify consistency between audio scripts and spoken content in audio and video files. Contact client to resolve discrepancies.
3. Provide all extracted content, including audio script files to translation department.
4. Receive all translated material from translator.
5. Send all translated material to client for review.
6. Obtain comments from client and make revisions.
7. Final review of all content by client.
8. Have native voice talent record all audio scripts.
9. Overlay translated textual content into Authorware files.
10. Revise graphics, navigation buttons, icons, etc.
11. Send the client a CD containing revised Authorware files for online review of translated text, controls, and graphics.
12. Revise movie files by overlaying translated sound track and lengthening or shortening each movie scene to match the length of the spoken audio.
13. Edit individual movie frames to replace English terms with Spanish terms.
14. Send the client a CD containing revised Authorware files and movies for final review.
15. Send the client a final CD suitable for mastering.
